Marie Skrepenak
Marie Skrepenak is an assistant coach for both girls' basketball and softball.
She attended GAR Memorial High School in
Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, where she was an active athlete, playing
volleyball, basketball, and participating in track and field. Additionally, she
played softball up until high school. She achieved the milestone of scoring
over 1,000 points in basketball and was a multiple district medalist in shot
put and discus. She furthered her education at Point Park University in
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a
minor in Education in 2019. Committed to advancing her qualifications, Marie
completed a Post-Baccalaureate Certification in Secondary Education with a
focus on English in 2022. She then returned to Point Park University to pursue
a Master’s Degree in Education, specializing in Athletic Coaching and
Administration, which she earned in 2023. Currently, she is enrolled in the
University’s Doctor of Education program, focusing on Leadership &
Administration.
Coming from Pennsylvania, Marie has extensive experience teaching and coaching various sports at different levels. She served as the Head Coach for Girls’ Basketball at Hanover Area High School for five years, during which she developed her coaching skills and leadership abilities. In addition to her high school coaching experience, she has coached travel basketball, softball, and track & field, demonstrating her dedication to sports development.
Marie is engaged to her fiancé, Heather, and
they share a daughter, Flora. She shares her home with their dog, Koda, and two
cats, Willow and Luna. Outside of her professional and family life, Marie
enjoys traveling, cooking, and attending various sporting events.
