Christopher Griffitt

Christopher Griffitt coaches Football and Girls Basketball at Castleberry High School.

Coach Griffitt has an extensive athletics background. He started on Varsity Baseball from 8th grade- senior year with Ridgewood Preparatory in Metairie, LA. During his time in high school, he earned numerous honors: 2 time All-State, 4 time All-District, 3 time All-Region and was a pre/post season All-American his senior year. Coach Griffitt then continued his baseball career in Community College for Bossier Parish Community College where he was All-Conference and Academic All-American for both years he was there as a Starting Pitcher. After his time at Bossier Parish, he transferred to The University of Louisiana at Lafayette where he was a Saturday Starting Pitcher his Junior year, landing an All-Conference honor before getting hurt for a redshirt year. In his final year of eligibility, he was moved to a closing role and his team went 58-10 and was ranked #1 in the nation as a mid-major where they won the conference, the conference tournament, and the Regional Championship.

Coach Griffitt graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in general studies with a focus on Engineering from The University of Louisiana. He coached Baseball and Football for 3 years at Benbrook Middle High school before coming to Castleberry. Coach Griffitt was a part of 3 back-to-back-to-back district championships in baseball and was a part of a team that went 4 rounds deep into the Playoffs.

Coach Griffitt and his wife, Angela Comer, have 5 wonderful kids Dakota, Christopher “Kitt”, Luca, Audrey, and Evelyn. He and his family enjoy long hikes, gaming, gardening, cooking, TV shows, and movies.

Coach Griffitt is very big on effort, and earning your position through hard work and dedication. Attitude, Approach, Intensity, Toughness = Aggressive Competitor was his philosophy throughout college and continues to be to this day. Coach Griffitt works to instill in all of his student-athletes the AAIT=AC method for their approach on everything that is to come into their athletic and future lifestyles.
