John Turner
Coach Turner coaches Football
(Defensive Coordinator and Outside Linebackers) and is the Head Powerlifting coach at Castleberry
High School.
Coach Turner played football and ran track in high school. He threw Shot Put and ran in the 4x100 and 100-meter races. He received All- State Honors as a defensive lineman.
Coach Turner graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harding University with a degree in Psychology and Business. Prior to Castleberry, Coach Turner worked at RL Turner High School and Denton Braswell High School. He has experience as an inside and outside linebackers’ coach and as a Defensive Coordinator. Coach Turner has also coached track and soccer. He was a part of the 2019 district 4-5A Staff of the Year.
Coach Turner and his wife of seven years, Jillian, have two daughters: June and Joelle. Coach Turner also has two dogs: Beau and Baker. In his free time, Coach Turner loves to read and fish.
Coach Turner believes that the person is greater than the player, and that the process is greater than the result. His ultimate goal is to make a positive impact on the lives of his players.
