Abigail Armenta

Abigail Armenta coaches Varsity Cheer at Castleberry High School. Coach Armenta began cheerleading at a competitive level in her early years of elementary school in California for Fusion Elite All-Stars and continued her passion for cheer throughout middle school and high school at Woodlands Elite Cheer Co. here in Texas. Throughout her cheerleading career she traveled across the country competing in many cheer competitions and was able to win the NCA Championship title numerous times. Coach Armenta attended Texas State University, graduating in December 2019 with her Bachelor’s of Science in Education. She immediately began teaching middle school reading intervention in January of 2020 at Irma Marsh Middle School. By the end of her first year teaching, she took on the role of the middle school cheerleading coach. In May of 2021, she moved up to coaching the Castleberry High School cheer team and will be starting her third year coaching them. Coach Armenta has two dogs, Shiner and Ramsay, who love going on hikes and spending time at the river and lake. Coach Armenta has a large family, consisting of five sisters and four brothers who mainly live in Southeast Houston, California, and Mississippi. She loves traveling and any outdoor activities with friends and family. Coach Armenta wants to build up a strong cheer program for Castleberry ISD filled with tradition and pride. With consistency, commitment, and hard work, she believes any cheerleading program will be able to grow stronger and better than they were before. She wants success for not only the team, but for each individual as they are pushed and given the opportunities to be the best cheerleaders and team that they can be. Her passion for Castleberry’s cheer team is what motivates her to find ways to grow as a coach every day and set her cheerleaders up for success.
